Note on the spelling of Mohave/Mojave
In 1859, when the United States military subjugated the tribe, the Mohave people were divided into two groups. A portion of the population was relocated to the Colorado River Indian Reservation at Parker, Arizona. This group spelled their name with an "h."

The Mojaves who remained near Needles spelled their name with a "j" after Fort Mojave which was established on the banks of the Colorado River. The two groups continue to use the difference in spelling.
